Medical history call
A paramedical person will contact you by phone at the time you requested in your application in step 1. Expect the call to take 15-20 minutes.
Important: This is NOT a test. It is simply a transfer of data – your medical history from you, to the insurance company.
Important: Listen to the questions carefully, and answer them fully, comprehensively, and in detail.
Example question: Have you ever had any tests, investigations, injury, treatment or surgery on your eyes?
Answer (correct): I get my eyes tested every couple of years, and have no issues or concerns. I wear glasses. I have not every had any injury, treatment or surgery on my eyes. (Unless of course, you have, and if so, disclose and detail this).
Answer (incorrect): No, my eyes are fine.
Important: The insurance company is trying to accept you, not deny you. We need to give them enough information during the phone call so that they can discard any risk factors. More information and details at this point makes for better, faster applications, and cheaper premiums.
Lastly: the insurance companies rarely ask for blood or urine samples since COVID. Instead, they often request a report from your family doctor who likely has this same information.
Receive your policy by email.
This generally takes 2-3 weeks for the underwriter to review your information. Once your policy is approved, we’ll contact you for your banking information and signatures, then we’ll send you your policy by email.
Once your new policy is in-hand, you can contact your bank and cancel your mortgage life insurance. Congratulations – you’ve got better life insurance, at a much cheaper premium.
